Faithfulness and generosity don't get much more visible than the response to our "Building Dreams" Campaign last year! With a goal of $1,250,000 needed to meet the needs, we have just passed $1 million!! Pretty impressive considering the difficulties of our economy..... As with any facility that is celebrating its 25th anniversary, our building has begun to need some major repairs and care. There are several projects needing our attention that are really beyond the scope of the typical annual operating budget, and so in June 2008, we launched a "BUILDING DREAMS" campaign! With an intentional play on the phrase, we're anticipating that this congregation-wide effort will not only offer some new possibilities and ministry through the facilities themselves, but also that we will dream and envision new ministry opportunities together as a congregation! Specifically, the campaign has a goal of $1,250,000 for the purpose of providing for re-roofing and roofing repairs, parking lot repair and repavement, a new sound system for the sanctuary, paying off the remaining debt from building our education wing, upgrading the projection equipment for the sanctuary, and redecorating and improving common areas throughout the building. One of the significant ways that Grace Covenant carries out mission is through our facilities. Thousands of people use our building week after week all year long! And Outreach - Mission - is one of the hallmarks of Grace Covenant, so we intend this effort to be a win-win scenario: renewed and cared-for facilities will allow us to continue our mission activities through our building; and with the remaining debt paid off, the annual budget will have additional dollars freed-up for ministry! If you would like more information on the Building Dreams Campaign, you may call the church office and ask for Associate Pastor Ky Weekley or Financial Secretary Johnnie Baker. |
