The Grace Covenant Sanctuary is blessed with stained-glass windows and etched-glass doors designed and created by local Kansas City artist Kathy Barnard. The five round stained-glass pieces surround the sanctuary with warmth and color. The first piece created and installed was the Covenant Window above the chancel area at the front of the sanctuary. The second to be installed was the Water Window.
Then the Fire Window was installed. The Earth Window was installed above the narthex outside the sanctuary facing into the parking lot.
Finally, the Wind or Air Window was installed between the sanctuary and narthex area and can be seen from both areas. The etched-glass doors into the sanctuary form a magnificent prairie scene celebrating God's creation. Each of the 12 panels stands alone featuring different creatures and elements of nature. Viewed as a whole, the 12 panels create one beautiful work of art. |
