Handbell Choir
Charter Ringers Wednesdays 6:10 p.m. - 7:20 p.m. in Room 1 Charter Ringers is an advanced handbell choir that explores a wide spectrum of handbell literature. The group utilizes 5 octaves of handbells and 5 octaves of handchimes. Charter Ringers share their ringing regularly in worship, in Easter worship, and in a Christmas & spring program. Chancel Choir Wednesdays 7:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. in Room 6 Chancel Choir provides weekly leadership in the second worship service and is open to adults who have an interest in and love of choral singing. The group's repertoire includes a wide variety of musical styles touching all the major musical time periods, spirituals, hymn arrangements, and newly composed anthems. Chancel Choir also leads in Christmas Eve worship and present major works with orchestra during Advent and Holy Week. Major works have included Requiem by Mozart and John Rutter, Lux aeterna by Morten Lauridsen, Te Deum & Magnificat by Mark Hayes, Gloria by K. Lee Scott and John Rutter, Seven Joys of Christmas by Kirke Mechem, and Christmas Cantata by Daniel Pinkham. Chancel Choir was honored to sing at Carnegie Hall on June 1, 2008 by invitation of composer, Mark Hayes and will be singing at Lincoln Center in NYC on June 9, 2012 by invitation of conductor, Dr. Richard Bjella. Praise Team Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. in Sanctuary This team, open to vocalists and instrumentalists (e.g., acoustic guitar, bass guitar, percussion, etc.) works each week preparing music that engages worshipers in the first worship service. This ensemble had the opportunity of working with Branon Dempsey of Worship Team Training out of Houston, TX in January of 2011 and will do so again in February of 2012.
